Almost Done!

I am on a mission to watch every Oscar Best Picture winner, starting from 1927 until the most recent winner (The Departed). I watched the 1948 winner today: Lawrence Olivier's Hamlet. After reading some reviews online, I guess Olivier left out some pretty key scenes from Shakespeare's original play. Since this is the first Hamlet film I've seen, I have nothing to compare it to. Honestly, it almost put me to sleep at times at 2.5 hours. But Olivier is quite an amazing actor, and some of the cinematography is extremely well done with long shots and playing with shadows in the black-and-white format.

So far, I have only four more Best Pics to go!

  1. Speaking of movies, AFI recently released their Top 10 of 2007. While I haven't seen all of the movies they listed, I don't see a single movie there that wouldn't deserve it.

Oh, and have you seen the new Batman trailer yet?
