A Fun Blackout

Last night, Katie and I were enjoying a classic film together--How to Marry a Millionaire--when all of a sudden the power went out. Our entire living room was immediately blanketed in darkness. This was not good, because it's very difficult to see when it's dark. And when it's difficult to see, it's even more difficult to walk around an apartment and find flashlights with dead batteries, thus leaving one frustrated and confused.

After some fumbling, I managed to light a few candles--our only light source--and check our apartment complex to confirm that it wasn't just us. We had no TV, no Internet, no lights. For about an hour, Katie and played games by candlelight and enjoyed the best pinot noir I've ever tasted in my life.

It seems that you don't necessarily need a TV screen and electricity to have a genuinely fun time with people you love.
