Spiritual Update

We had a really awesome youth group last night. With it being the end of the semester, I wasn't sure how many students would show up. But we had a great group of students and an awesome time of worship for our Transformed night. It was exciting for me to see students participating in communion together. And one of our 9th graders had the opportunity to lead his 6-year-old brother to Christ! Great evening overall.

Today, is a "spiritual retreat" day for me. Our church graciously encourages us to take one or two days a quarter for spiritual renewal and seeking God's will in our lives. Really love that our leaders value our spiritual lives and making sure we're on track with God. I'm planning on doing some reading, spending a long time in prayer, and having some conversations with Mark--also on spiritual retreat--about where we're headed as a youth ministry in 2008.

It's a good habit for spiritual leaders to take time to check their spiritual lives and see where God is leading them. It's really easy to get caught up in "doing ministry" and forgetting to just love Jesus. Today will be a good time to evaluate where I'm at with God and where He's leading me.
