Parent Night

We have a parent night at our junior high gathering this evening.  I've been praying a lot for this, that parents would participate and have a genuinely fun time hanging out with their student and hearing our vision for the ministry.  Instead of an information-driven parent night (which elicits similar feelings to hearing the words "DMV" or "church committee"), we're having a (mostly) normal youth group--fingerblasters, worship, sharing from the pastor, and some good hang-out time.  I love the idea of parents coming to participate with their students in something, as opposed to just hearing bullet-points of information about the ministry.  Why not experience the ministry instead of just hear about it?

It's my first "parent meeting" at Red Mountain, so we'll see how many show up to check out the new guy!
