Drumming for Jesus

I rarely get opportunities to play the drums any more, since youth ministry and marriage take precedent over percussion in my life. But every so often, I get the chance to play drums as an act of corporate worship. One of those opportunities came yesterday, as I played drums for RMCC's Easter services. I have to say, drumming is one of the richest and fullest acts of worship I can think of. There is something beautiful about rhythmically using your entire body--drumming is a full-body workout--to create music that gives glory to the Creator. God has given me a gift in my percussive talents; I can only give those back to Him in praise. I cannot fully describe it, only to say that there are moments when playing the drums is both transcendent and spiritually-enriching for me.
