Phoenix First Friday

We spent our Friday evening at the Phoenix Art Museum during the city of Phoenix's First Friday. First Friday is similar to Portland's First Thursday, an event when downtown art galleries open up to the public in the evenings. We checked out a very cool exhibit in the museum called Illuminated Manuscripts, which had some very old manuscripts of Scripture. It was very cool to see the Bible in different forms over history, including an 8th century manuscript, a huge Torah scroll, and a page from a Gutenberg Bible. We also took the opportunity to drive around downtown Phoenix, which turns out is our state's capital city (we weren't entirely sure, so we drove around until we found a building that looked like a capital building).
