Pre-Camp Jitters

I've definitely had some of the pre-camp jitters today! I was reviewing Ephesians 3 this morning for my lesson tomorrow and read something that was right for the moment. Paul says that he is "less than the least of all God's people," referring to how God chose him to share the Gospel with the Gentiles.

Two options here: 1. This is false humility and Paul knows his own awesome significance in the world, or 2. Paul is in touch with his own inadequacies and is overwhelmed that God would use him as part of His eternal purpose for human history.

I'd like to think it's option #2.

At the moment, I'm also very aware of my own inadequacies as I prepare to lead a week-long summer camp of nearly 300 people with zero experience leading a camp. Not quite sure who thought that would be a good idea. But then again, choosing an uber-religious Christian-killing Pharisee to become the Christian apostle to the Gentiles seems like a fairly crazy idea too. And that seemed to work out alright. I'm banking on God doing something crazy/amazing this week. And I'm excited to spend a week with the junior high students!

Ever been aware of your inadequacies, only to see God use you in a cool way? Share the story.
