Unity in the Body

Something that I really enjoyed about last week's summer camp is the variety of churches involved. It was a huge blessing for me to connect with different youth leaders from all over Arizona, each with unique strengths and experiences. With so many different leaders, each likely having different values and philosophies of ministry, it could have been a recipe for disaster and frustration. But every leader stuck with the basics--follow Jesus and invite junior high students to do the same. It was awesome to share stories about ministry, ask each other questions, and throw water balloons at one another. My wife was equally encouraged through conversations with other spouses of youth pastors at camp.

If you're in any way involved in youth ministry, I would strongly encourage you to connect with youth leaders from other churches. Shoot them an email, grab a cup of coffee or lunch, then share experiences and stories about what God is doing in your respective ministries. Ask questions, listen closely, and laugh freely. Be prepared to be refreshed and challenged!
