We are here!

We are here, safe and sound! It was a long flight and the flight from DC to Frankfurt was less than ideal. It was a pretty old airplane and there was only one movie to keep us entertained. The kids did awesome though! We got to Riga and then had to stay awake so that we would be able to sleep that night. We walked around the city and saw the incredible sights. Unfortunately I forgot the cord that connects my camera to the computer so there will not be any pictures posted while we are here. I am so sorry! We will post a ton when we get home.

For Joel's full report see The Well Blog. There is also a video that we made on that blog.

Food so far has been difficult for Joel. The food is safe as far as we know. They don't use any peanut oil or soy bean oil, but for Joel, it is still difficult because of all of his previos bad experiences. Please continue to pray for that. We went to a market today and we were able to buy some bread and jam and some bananas. I brought some food for him to eat and we are hoping that the camp food will be even more safe and that Joel will be assured of that.

Both Joel and I slept well last night, so I think we are pretty rested. It was funny when the kids did not believe us that they would wake up in the middle of the night because of jetlag. But just as we predicted they were all awake around 3 or 4. Luckily I had thought ahead and took a sleeping pill, so I was fast asleep all night. The shower situation is also difficult. There are two showers and as of this morning it was freezing. The boys all took showers, but because they woke up late the girls rocked and sacrificed their showers. They are really hard core! I, not so much. I kinda took a shower, it was freezing so I just dipped my head under it enough to wash it.

Ok, we are heading out to dinner at a pizza place around the corner. We will blog more later.
