Today is one of the more momentous days in recent history. Today our country will have a new president, and he will be an African-American. Say what you want about the American political system, we're one of the only countries in history who can elect our own leaders and then make a peaceful transition of power. There's no military coup, no political assassination or civil war. Instead, there are 2 million people gathered in celebration in Washington DC. Remarkable.

  1. Halfrican-American. It was the best we could do for now. =P

But I think you make a great point about how the majority of our country treats the transition of power. We may have disagreements, but there is no violence stemming from these procedures unlike many other countries.
