Surviving Change

A few months ago, I was whining about the new format for Facebook. They seemingly forced it upon us users, creating these weird tabs and all these bizarre feeds. Now I honestly can't really remember what I loved about the old one so much. I probably use Facebook now more than ever.

Change is like that, isn't it? Often our knee-jerk reaction is, "It's different. I hate it. Make it like the way it was." We tend to get comfortable with our circumstances and can't imagine anything else beyond them. Yet once the change is given time to set in and we realize that the benefits far outweigh our own initial discomfort, it turns out that change is just fine. We can handle it. We push through it. We usually are better off because of it!

It's just one small reminder that while change is risky and scary and uncomfortable, we can survive (and thrive) because of change.

  1. I was thinking of this the other day. I can't remember what Old Facebook even looked like!
