High School Winter Ski Trip

I've been gone all weekend in Durango, CO with our high school students on a ski trip. Due to a snafu in our room reservations--i.e. they didn't actually reserve us a room we paid for--I've been chilling in a very expensive resort suite with a bunch of junior guys, right on the slopes. (Let's put it this way: we've been having our "cabin time" every night in a giant hot tub on the roof of the resort.)

It's been a weekend of skiing, snowboarding, sledding, snowman-making, snowball-throwing, uber-long bus rides, and spiritual renewal. I've been speaking on a teaching series based on the book Almost Christian (more on that later this week in a blog post) and having a blast getting to know both the high school students and the staff. These are the very students I'll be shepherding in less than 4 months as I transition into high school ministry. I still totally love junior high ministry, yet I can't wait!

If January is any indication, this is going to be a good year.
