Summer 2011 Soundtrack

When asked the question, "what kind of music do you listen to?" I typically reply, "I like good music." My musical tastes run the gamut from Bob Dylan to Radiohead to Kanye West to Phil Wickham to The National. If it's genuinely good, I'll give it a listen.

Every summer has a soundtrack for me of the songs I'm listening to most frequently, the ones that seem to capture the ethos of the season. Here's what's been in my ears for 2011 (RSS readers, click through to listen to the audio for each song via YouTube):

Bon Iver - Calgary

Adele - Rolling in the Deep

Givers - Up Up Up

Cults - Go Outside

TV On The Radio - Will Do

The Antlers - French Exit

William Fitzsimmons - Fade and Then Return

Radiohead - Lotus Flower

Iron and Wine - Walking Far From Home

Coldplay - Every Teardrop is a Waterfall

Smith Westerns - Smile

Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues

The Civil Wars - Poison and Wine

Death Cab for Cutie - St. Peter's Cathedral

What have you been listening to this year?
