Twin Towers on Film

A beautiful montage of the cinematic moments featuring the Twin Towers, from 1969 to 2001.

I remember waking up and heading out to school that morning. I had just turned 17 a few days earlier, and one of my best friends, Gabe, had spent the night. We both stared at the TV in awe as the second plane exploded, almost like watching some sort of action or horror film. This horror was real, was actually happening on the opposite coast, with real lives being tragically lost. My teenage mind couldn't fully comprehend the pain our world was experiencing. Now, ten years later, the world still has the scars of the past decade, but it continues to grow and change and thrive. When I'm reminded of the suffering and the loss in our world, I recall that Paul once made the paradoxical statement that suffering leads to hope.

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. (Romans 5:3-5)

May you be filled with hope today.
