Notice Me

"I feel like no one cares about the stress I'm under."

"I am sick about being judged for my past especially when someone was supposed to be a friend."

"I thought high school was supposed to be better than this."

"Fml."

Everyone wants someone to notice and listen to them. That's why we post our pain on our Facebook statuses. Perhaps we could poke fun at the apparent narcissism of social media--isn't it ironic that I write this in a blog post?--but I wonder if these online laments require our compassion, not our contempt.

Read through the statuses of students and pray for those who are crying out. Pray that they'd experience hope and love and faith and peace. Remind them that God is near.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
 (Psalm 34:18)
