Audrey Assad - You Speak

Looking back, the year of 2013 has been one of the more stressful and arduous years of my life. Adjusting to life in a new country, a new church, and a new leadership role requires plenty of energy and efforts. My mind and heart would often fill with anxiety, worry, discouragement, and defeat.

Enter Audrey Assad. Her album, Fortunate Fall, has become a soundtrack of peace and comfort in the midst of a full and taxing season. Each song is it's own reminder of my own weakness and God's infinite strength and comforting love. The final song on the album, You Speak, has been on repeat the past few weeks, and I wanted to share the beauty and truth this album offers, particularly as we enter the busy Christmas season. Be blessed and encouraged.

You liberate me from my own noise and my own chaos
From the chains of a lesser law, You set me free
You liberate me from my own noise and my own chaos
From the chains of a lesser law, You set me free

In the silence of the heart You speak
In the silence of the heart You speak
and it is there that I will know You
and You will know me
in the silence of the heart
You speak, You speak.

You satisfy me 'til I am quiet and confident
In the work of the Spirit I cannot see.
You satisfy me 'til I am quiet and confident
In the work of the Spirit I cannot see.

In the silence of the heart You speak.
